Emmerdale viewers were treated to a dramatic episode on Wednesday night as Dawn Fletcher was forced to choose between her lover Joe Tate and her husband Billy Fletcher. Recently, Dawn has been embroiled in an affair with Joe since his return to Home Farm in December on the ITV soap.
Unbeknownst to Dawn, Joe has been secretly trying to arrange a kidney transplant due to his health issues. After discovering that half-brother Noah Dingle wasn’t a match, he orchestrated for his uncle Caleb Milligan to be stabbed so he could steal his kidney. Consequently, he left the village to recuperate in Dubai after the operation, leaving Dawn heartbroken by his sudden disappearance and lack of communication.
However, on Friday, Joe returned to the village determined to win back Dawn. In Wednesday’s episode, Dawn finally made her decision between Joe and Billy, choosing Joe, Leicestershire Live reports. She confessed that she doesn’t love Billy and planned to tell him the next day, warning that “all hell is gonna break loose”.

However, Joe remained unfazed, reminding her that their love for each other is all that matters. Fans took to social media to express their suspicions about Joe’s intentions, believing he’s using Dawn, step-daughter of Kim Tate, to secure Home Farm for himself.
One viewer commented: “I think Joe is using Dawn to get his feet firmly under Kim’s table. Dawn is her step daughter, so no matter how much Kim distrusts Joe, she will allow him and Dawn to stay.
“And Joe is determined to get his sticky paws on Home Farms and probably bankrupt Kim in the process.”
Elsewhere, another speculated: “I reckon Joe is using dawn to make a play for homefarm #Emmerdale”.
Another viewer questioned: “Is Joe really in love with Dawn? Or is this some twisted plot to ruin Kim and she’s just collateral damage? #emmerdale”.
Meanwhile, someone else added: “He’ll dump Dawn as soon as He gets What he Wants. #emmerdale.”
It remains to be seen if it’s true love or all part of Joe’s plan.
However, that’s not the only dramatic scenes set to air on Emmerdale this week.
