Joe Tate faces trouble as his actions come to haunt him

Emmerdale fans think that the ITV soap could be preparing a “whodunnit” storyline as they predict that Joe Tate will end up getting attacked.

During recent episodes, viewers watched in horror as Joe Tate orchestrated his master plan to get his hands on Caleb Miligan’s kidney.

In order to do this, he enlisted the help of the dodgy Dr Crowley who received an impressive sum of money from Joe in order to complete the underground operation.

Joe hired an accomplice, Shaun, to stab Caleb at the depot. However, Dr Crowley became increasingly worried as his injuries were more severe than intended.

Luckily, Caleb pulled through and was told that Joe found him bleeding and took him to his private doctor to be operated on immediately.

As for the missing kidney? Dr Crowley informed Caleb that it had to be removed due to the damage it received during the incident.

During Wednesday’s (16th April) episode, Caleb has started to grow suspicious of Joe and even probed Noah for more information.

When Noah told him that he kept having visions of Joe and him in a private hospital room with a creepy doctor, alarm bells started to ring for Caleb.

While he gets closer to the truth, fans are convinced that Emmerdale are setting up a “whodunnit” storyline as they assume Joe Tate will end up getting attacked.

Since making his return last year, he’s nothing short of enemies in the village. With Caleb angry about his kidney, Charity concerned for Noah’s safety, Ross’ long-standing feud and his affair with Dawn leading to her ending things with Billy – there are many potential suspects.

On a Reddit thread, u/tiredperson24 wrote: “The truth about what he did to Caleb is set to come out which means the other stuff will likely follow suit and given how wide the range of people that have been affected by his actions is?

“He’ll have plenty people wanting payback – Ross for having his brother attacked, Charity for spiking Noah and also causing her to crash the car killing Amy, Leyla and Suzy.

“Of course any one of their loved ones would also be gunning for Joe, and of course Caleb himself and possibly Ruby and Steph and maybe Cain.”

They added: “When him and Dawn come out Billy could also be gunning for him so it seems like a whodunnit is kinda neatly being set up imo. Though I don’t think he’ll be killed off tbh more likely just an attempt will be made and we’ll get some aftermath antics.”

u/Ornery-Arm-8611 replied: “I think they will. [not kill him off, like you said, but very badly beaten/almost killed] A bit like when Cain was acting like a right cocky in 2011, and there was a who-dun-it of who attacked him badly with a tyre iron.”
