Coronation Street fans have made a demand over newcomer Wes Fuller as they think they have rumbled his true identity in his role in Dee-Dee Bailey’s latest storyline.
Fans of the ITV soap were first introduced to the nurse last month after Dee-Dee faced a traumatic labour before almost losing her life due to her health concerns being ignored.
Corrie viewers found out that Dee-Dee was pregnant towards the end of last year as the truth about her ex-Joel Deering’s death was played out in a series of flashback scenes.
After Joel’s murder, Dee-Dee kept her pregnancy a secret as she battled with the decision as to whether to keep her unborn child due to the link to her former fiance who was exposed as being a groomer.
She later ended up confiding in Sarah Platt. But when Lauren Bolton’s son, Frankie, who was also Joel’s child, became ill, it became apparent that Dee-Dee’s unborn child could be the one to save him. While she decided to continue with the pregnancy, she decided her child would be put up for adoption.

It was then in dramatic and emotional scenes at the end of March that Dee-Dee went into labour after her initial pains had earlier been dismissed during a visit to the hospital’s maternity unit.

While she was seen by a nurse, Dee-Dee’s pain wasn’t taken seriously due to the staff in the ward being overworked. But her high blood pressure was noted and it was later revealed, as she was rushed back to the hospital after her waters broke, that she had pre-eclampsia and the baby needed to arrive immediately.
It was also after the traumatic birth that Dee-Dee was dismissed, with a nurse not listening to her requests about not breastfeeding or having skin-to-skin contact because she wasn’t going to be keeping her little girl, as well as ignoring her complaints of extreme fatigue and general feeling of being unwell.
Dee-Dee then fell unconscious and it was discovered that she was bleeding heavily, something she was heard hinting at as she told the nurse she felt wet “down there”. It was then in the following episode on that Dee-Dee confirmed doctors had to perform an emergency hysterectomy to save her life, and that she won’t be able to carry any more children and she’s since decided to make a formal complaint.
Weeks on and during Wednesday night’s (April 16) Corrie, Dee-Dee recognised Wes from the hospital as they bumped into one another on the street.

Dee-Dee soon opened up about the complaint process and told how she thinks one rogue nurse brings the rest of them down. While understanding, Wes urged the local legal expert to reconsider launching a complaint against midwife Zoe, even offering to be a support for her if she needed it.
Dee-Dee seemed a bit taken aback by Wes’ stance but did seem to be given food for thought. As they prepared to part ways, Wes offered Dee-Dee his number so she could keep in touch if she needed any help or someone to lean on.

Corrie fans, meanwhile, think they know who Wes, played by comedian and Britain’s Got Talent star Kevin Finn, really is – and they’re actually not wrong – with the comments coming amid a demand for him to be made a regular character.
@Wee_Westie29 said: “Wes must be Zoe Harker’s brother or connected to her – the look on his face when Dee Dee mentioned Zoe’s name. #Corrie #CoronationStreet @itvcorrie.”
@blue_laur11 commented: “I think Wes is Zoe’s husband or partner brother ? #Corrie.” @LisasCrisps added: “Please can Wes become a regular please? #Corrie.”
