Coronation Street newcomer Jonathan Howard recently burst into Weatherfield and has left fans gripped.
The 38-year-old actor plays Carl Webster, the long-lost brother of legendary characters Kevin (Michael Le Vell) and Debbie (Sue Devaney), but he is yet to reveal his reasons for reuniting with his siblings.
Carl was first spotted on-screen after his car collided with Abi Webster’s (Sally Carman), leading to an altercation before they flirted and he offered to take her for a drink.
The pair were unaware that they were related as Abi is married to Kevin, until Carl abruptly entered the Bistro to the delight of his family.

Jonathan’s new Corrie role has seen the actor leave his home in LA after 10 years to move back to England to be closer to the Corrie set. He also confirmed he is sleeping in his childhood bedroom.
During his time in America, where he lives with his actor wife Élodie Yung, Jonathan has appeared in several Hollywood blockbusters, including the Marvel superhero film Thor: The Dark World, where he played Ian Boothby, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, portraying Asher Jonah, plus many more.
Speaking to Plymouth Live, and other press, Jonathan said: “As a Lancashire lad born and raised, the dream was to be in Coronation Street, that was the ceiling, so it feels wonderfully surreal to now be acting with people like Kevin Webster that I watched religiously as a kid.

“My friends ask me, ‘what you have been up to today?’ and I reply ‘I took Tracy Barlow for a drink in the Rovers Return!’ It’s just incredible to say these things.”
He added: “I’m staying with my mum and I sleep in my childhood bedroom. It’s been really nice to come home – going back to my roots.”
Despite starring in Hollywood movies alongside big industry names, Jonathan’s new role in Corrie is very special to him having been rejected for a different part on the ITV soap in 2018.
But the Corrie dream sent the star in another direction, he explains: “It’s come full circle. It feels like the universe has brought me back to Coronation Street and the north of England.

“I wouldn’t have had a career in America if I’d got the part of Gary. And I wouldn’t have met my wife, who I met at drama school.”
The role of Gary Windass is played by Mikey North.
