CBS Just Announced Major News about Luke Grimes’s ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff

Taylor Sheridan loves to keep his fans on their toes, and we’re not just talking about the plots of his dramas. Since Yellowstone ended, we know that several spinoffs are in the works, including 1944 and Dutton Ranch, the new sequel starring Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser). Now, we have an update about Luke Grimes’s series, and he’ll be heading to network TV soon.

Unlike the other shows in the Yellowstone universe, which air on Paramount+, Luke is bringing Kayce Dutton to network television in the show titled Y: Marshals. CBS announced the news as part of their full 2025-2026 lineup. An exact premiere date has not been given, but the show will air on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. EST and will join the lineup midseason.

According to CBS, the show’s official logline reads, “Combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”

No additional details about the cast have been revealed, but we’re hoping Kayce’s wife Monica (Kelsey Asbille) and their son Tate (Brecken Merrill) will reprise their roles.

Y: Marshal is one of two Taylor Sheridan shows joining CBS. The Road, a music competition show, finds Keith Urban, Gretchen Wilson, and Blake Shelton on a quest to find the next great touring musician. The unscripted series will air on Sunday nights in the fall.
