Emmerdale star Geoff Dignan has finally broken his silence following his appearance as Aidan Moore.
Fans of the soap will recall that Aidan, the former fiancé of John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), had been in a coma at Hotten General for several years.

Initially, villain John told his current partner, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), that Aidan was a comrade from his time serving in Afghanistan, who tragically lost his life in an incident at their military base.
However, the truth eventually surfaced, with John admitting that he regularly visits Aidan in hospital, accompanied by Aidan’s mother Cathleen (Julia Watson).
During a visit to see his sister Victoria’s (Isabel Hodgins) son, Harry (Adam Pryor), in hospital last month, John bumped into Cathleen. She revealed she’d been urgently summoned by her son’s doctors. In a dramatic turn, Aidan was later seen opening his eyes, reports Leicestershire Live.

The plot thickened last week when Cathleen implored John to visit Aidan on his wedding day to Aaron.
Once at the hospital, John requested some privacy from Cathleen, leading to a tense exchange with a frightened Aidan, who managed to utter: “You!”
“Why? Why did you have to start talking?” John then retorted.
“I loved you, you know, more than you ever did me. I tried to show you how much you needed me, how lucky you were to have me. I saved you, and I risked my own life to do it. It was only because you were too weak that it ended like it did, like this.”
Aidan quickly countered: “No, you!” with John clarifying: “It wasn’t like that – I save people. It’s what I do, it’s who I am. You really pick your moments don’t you.”

As Aidan reached towards the assistance button by his bed, John swiftly intervened, brandishing a syringe.
“I never wanted to have to do this, but you gave me no choice. I wanted something painless so you’d just drop off but your mum wouldn’t leave me alone so this is all I could grab,” explained John as he prepared to inject air into Aidan’s life-support machine.
Yet, at the last minute, John hesitated, just moments before Aidan underwent a cardiac arrest. It was subsequently disclosed that Aidan had slipped into another coma due to the heart attack’s impact.
Geoff Dignan, the actor portraying Aidan, has now spoken out following his dramatic Emmerdale storyline.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday (June 2), Geoff shared some behind-the-scenes pictures from his time on set, alongside the caption: “I had an absolute blast playing Aidan Moore in #Emmerdale.
“I’ve met great people from the crew to the very talented cast. Thank you to my agent @StarkTalentUK.”
On a potential comeback to the soap, Geoff hinted: “Who knows what’s in store for Aidan, after all it is Emmerdale, he’s woke up once… why not one more time.”

Fan theories are circulating about Aidan potentially disrupting John and Aaron’s marriage in future scenes, with one person suggesting: “Surely Aidan will wake up again soon?”
Another chimed in: “Aidan has to wake up. We need to know exactly what happened between him and John.”
