Emmerdale’s Georgia Jay, who joined the ITV soap as Steph Miligan in November 2024, has already been embroiled in some intense storylines.
Recently, fans have been left heartbroken as Steph contemplated plastic surgery after a distressing family secret was revealed.
This life-changing decision came after it was disclosed that she was born as a result of sexual abuse, with her grandfather, Anthony (played by Nicholas Day), being unveiled as both her mother’s abuser and her biological father.
Finding it hard to come to terms with this shocking revelation, Steph began seeing Anthony’s reflection whenever she looked at herself in the mirror. She had not yet confided in her parents, Ruby (Beth Cordingly) and Caleb (William Ash).

After a brief hiatus from the village, Steph returned this week and was questioned about her grandfather’s whereabouts following Ruby’s confession to the police that she had killed him.

Georgia Jay only became part of the Emmerdale cast towards the end of last year, taking on the role of newcomer Steph. Her portrayal of such a complicated character has kept viewers thoroughly engrossed.
Discussing her new role in the iconic soap, the 33-year-old actress expressed, “I am thrilled to be joining the cast of Emmerdale. The cast and crew have all been so welcoming, and I’m very excited to see what lies ahead for Steph, given her intriguing backstory.”
On projects beyond Emmerdale, Georgia has received plaudits for her performances in series such as Silent Witness, Giri/Haji, and the productions Glow and Darkness.
Family life
Turning to her personal life, the actress caused quite a stir among her fans when she shared captivating black and white photos with her identical twin sister on Instagram.
In her social media post that included the images, she wrote: “Double Take… #Twinning @olgalioncat.”
As admirers flocked to the comments section, one enthusiastic fan exclaimed: “Omg you are a twin. How beautiful are you both. Gorgeous piccies xxx”, prompting Georgia to respond: “I ammm.”
The compliments continued, with another follower chiming in, “Double stunning and very elegant”, while others praised her work on the show by saying: “You’re both beautiful! ! You’re doing so well as Steph we love her! .”

In more exciting news, Georgia recently delighted her Instagram followers by announcing her pregnancy.
She playfully hinted at the news with a charming photo showcasing her baby bump, captioning it: “As you’ve probably guessed, I’ve got some news to share! I know some of you have been wondering if you’ve been seeing a little bump on screen lately..”
Confirming the joyful news, she stated: “Well, it’s not your imagination… I’m having a baby! We’re absolutely ecstatic and a tad nervous all at once. Thank you so much for all the love and support.”
