With the series finale of SWAT having aired some time ago in the US, fans in the UK have been waiting patiently to see the show’s eighth and final season in full.
Now, at last, we have a confirmed release date for the new episodes, which will start airing on Sky Max at 9pm on Sunday 20th July.
Of course, this is good news and bad news for fans, as they know this is the final time they will get to see the show in its current form, with all of their favourite characters together.
Thankfully, it’s not all bad news. First and foremost, season 8 is made up of 21 episodes, meaning there is still plenty of action for fans left to enjoy once they arrive on Sky Max.

Meanwhile, after the show was brought back from its apparent cancellation a couple of times in the past, it has now been confirmed that it will live on in a new form, with Shemar Moore returning as Hondo for new spin-off SWAT: Exiles.
The synopsis for the new show says: “After a high-profile mission goes sideways, Hondo is pulled out of forced retirement to lead a last-chance experimental SWAT unit made up of untested, unpredictable young recruits.
“Hondo must bridge a generational divide, navigate clashing personalities, and turn a squad of outsiders into a team capable of protecting the city and saving the programme that made him who he is.”
Filming on the spin-off, which will be made up of 10 episodes, is reported to take place this September, and it will feature a whole new cast of characters joining Hondo.
