EastEnders is set to reveal a teenage character is pregnant in a shocking twist as part of a new storyline.

There’s been a number of teenage pregnancies on the BBC soap over the years, with Lilly Slater’s making headlines in 2023.

The daughter of Stacey Slater found out that she was pregnant at just 12-years-old on New Year’s Day in 2023, when the family were hospitalised over carbon monoxide poisoning in their home.

With Ricky Mitchell, who was also 12, revealed as the father of Lily’s baby, the storyline saw social services getting involved over fears the young girl may have been abused.

Debating to have an abortion, Lily decided to go through with the pregnancy, eventually giving birth to her daughter Charli, named after Charli XCX.

Aside from this, Sonia Fowler gave birth without knowing she was pregnant when she was 15, and the late Lola Pearce had a child as a teenager after sleeping with her third cousin Ben Mitchell.

According to the latest batch of EastEnders spoilers, Avanin Nandra-Hart is set to receive her own bombshell news next week.

In scenes which will air on Tuesday, July 22, it’s clear that something is on Avani’s mind as her parents Priya and Ravi remain preoccupied with their financial woes.

Enlisting the help of her close friend Barney Mitchell, the pair head to Harry’s Barn where a test reveals that she’s pregnant,

On Wednesday, July 24, Ravi is arrested by the police over his dodgy past, with a search for evidence occurring in their family home.

During this, Avani attempts to tell Priya about her pregnancy, but she reconsiders when Ravi arrives home following his arrest.

Later, Suki Panesar spies Avani looking at a family planning website and Avani reveals that she’s pregnant and is getting an abortion.

The following episode, which will air on Thursday, July 24, finds Suki distracted as Vinny Panesar leaves for Ash Panesar’s engagement party, and heads to meet with the Granthi to discuss Avani’s pregnancy.

Meanwhile, Avani speaks to Barney about her pregnancy and reasons why she’s not keeping the baby, but will her parents learn about what’s really going on with their daughter.
