Friday’s episode of Coronation Street, available on ITV X, unveiled the identity of Aadi Alahan’s robber in a dramatic twist.
In the latest instalment, which is broadcast at 8pm on ITV but can be viewed earlier on ITV X, viewers saw Aadi shouting as a masked thief bolted from the corner shop.
DS Lisa Swain, who has been grappling with personal issues, froze at the sight, leaving her partner Carla Connor baffled by her inaction, allowing the robber to get away.
Back inside the shop, a rattled Aadi confessed to Asha that he was threatened with a wrench and forced to empty the safe, expressing his embarrassment and concern about their father Dev’s reaction. Asha quickly comforted her brother, reminding him that he was a crime victim.
Later, while recounting the incident to PC Jess, Aadi disclosed that the thief had made off with £6K in cash from the safe.

However, he was quick to mention they were insured, ensuring the £6K would be recovered – a detail that aroused the suspicion of stepmother Bernie Winter, reports Belfast Live.
The plot thickened when it was revealed that Brody Michaelis was the actual culprit, working in cahoots with Aadi. It transpired that Aadi had mistakenly over-ordered stock and found himself in debt after taking out a £6000 loan to rectify the blunder.
Aadi orchestrated the heist to fraudulently claim £6000 through insurance and settle his mounting debts. It emerged that the break-in was meant to happen under cover of darkness, but Brody defied their arrangement by carrying it out in broad daylight.

Whilst the pair argued over this deviation and Brody’s outstanding payment, Bernie walked in and cottoned on to what the lads had been up to.
Determined to shield stepson Aadi and her biological grandson Brody, Bernie pledged to keep their criminal activity under wraps and tell no one.
Just as Bernie and Aadi were discussing how to maintain their silence, Dev unexpectedly returned from his travels, sending the pair into a state of alarm.
This plot development coincides with Aadi’s impending departure from the ITV soap after five years, with actor Adam Hussain having confirmed his exit.

He broke the news on Instagram earlier this year, stating: “I guess the secrets out now! As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures.
“Over the 5 years I’ve spent there I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little. I have made friends that will last a lifetime and will surely miss such a special family!”
He added: “This isn’t a farewell for Aadi however, more like a see you later! I’m excited to see what the future brings!
