Emmerdale fans have just realised where they recognise the actor who plays Owen Michaels from.
TV star Simon Haines made his debut on the ITV soap this year, when his character went on a date with Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley).
Things took a harrowing turn though when Owen drugged Robert and attempted to take him home. Robert’s half-brother and secret killer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) intervened and sent him on his way with a stern warning.

This week though, Owen was back on the soap when he showed up at the doctors to try and get some sleeping pills.

Medic John wasn’t having it and accused him of wanting the pills to spike someone else before forcing him to leave.
Later on, Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) shared his concerns about Owen, revealing that he has had a hard life and turned to drugs and drink.
John then went and visited Owen – but realised he was dead. In a bid to get away with killing Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), John used Owen’s death to his advantage and made it out like Owen was the one who murdered Nate.

However, fans of the soap have recently been left scratching their heads over what they have seen Owen actor Simon Haines in before.
“Can anyone tell me what the guy who plays Owen has been in? I really recognise him,” one person mused on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page. Someone else then added: “Same here as well.”
