Beth & Rip’s Yellowstone Spinoff Debut Seemingly Delayed After Initial November 2025 Release Plan

During the latest Paramount earnings call for Q2 of 2025, the studio laid out their plans for the rest of the year and beyond, including the roster of Taylor Sheridan-helmed shows. Among this list was the Beth and Rip-focused Yellowstone spinoff, now officially titled The Dutton Ranchand is now slated to premiere in 2026. The show was previously slated to premiere in November of this year, with no explanation given as to the apparent delay.

What This Means For The Dutton Ranch

There Are A Few Likely Reasons For The Delay

With Paramount no longer having The Dutton Ranch in their 2025 release calendar, Yellowstone fans will now have longer to wait for the franchise’s return after 1923 ended in April. However, while the studio didn’t offer any reasoning behind pushing the show to 2026 in their earnings call, there are a few likely factors impacting Beth and Rip’s spinoff.

The most likely cause is the recent Skydance and Paramount merger, which has also seen delays in other major projects, particularly South Park season 27’s premiere. With no announced filming start for the Yellowstone spinoff, it’s possible that the studio wanted to wait to ensure the finances were in place to give the show the resources it needs.

Another potential reason behind The Dutton Ranch‘s delay is Paramount+ wanting to have a more even spread of Taylor Sheridan-based content. During the earnings call, the studio also revealed that Mayor of Kingstown season 4 will premiere in October 2025 and Landman season 2 in December, creating a bit of a crowded window for the Yellowstone series.

Though the wait for its return is somewhat disappointing after Yellowstone‘s divisive ending, The Dutton Ranch‘s delay could actually be great for both it and the franchise as a whole. It’s already been confirmed that Kayce’s spinoff is set for a 2026 CBS run, and The Madison is currently without any kind of release update, despite filming having apparently wrapped in December 2024.

With Beth and Rip’s return coming in 2026, all three spinoffs could release in a close enough grouping to make 2026 the year of Yellowstone. Additionally, this could give the shows a chance to find ways to crossover with one another, be it Kayce paying a visit to Rip and Beth while on a job or having to contend with members of the McIntosh family from The Madison.
