Another Yellowstone Star Confirmed That the Series Isn’t Ending

If you thought Yellowstone aired its final episode last month, think again. Like a phoenix rising out of the ashes of a nearly botched series finale, Taylor Sheridan’s hit western seems like its gearing up for a second life on TV. Spin-offs and sequel series are currently packing into Paramount like a can of worms ready to pop, even though the network has yet to confirm much of anything. Instead, the stars of Yellowstone are trickling out information on social media.

Right before the holidays, Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton) confirmed her spin-off with Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler) in an Instagram comment. When a fan asked if the rumors of the series were credible, she simply responded, “true 🤍.” Now actor Forrie J. Smith (who plays cowboy Lloyd Pierce) is adding to the news that Yellowstone is far from finished.

“Hey, Yellowstone addicts, I would stay together,” he said in an Instagram video posted on Saturday, January 5. “Taylor Sheridan, he ain’t said it’s over.”

That’s true, Lloyd! While Paramount has remained silent regarding any news about Yellowstone’s future, the writer and creator of the series has yet to comment to the press about his plans. For now, there’s just the second season of 1923 and the upcoming The Madison spin-off with Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Fox. 1923 season 2 premieres February 23, but there’s no official release date or trailer yet for The Madison.

Yellowstone Star Says the Series Isn't Over Yet

Yellowstone director Christina Alexandra Voros has primarily acted as the spokesperson for the show throughout season 5, part 2. She’s working on The Madison as well, which may or may not include any characters from Yellowstone. “The team that I’ve been working with has moved from Yellowstone into The Madison, so I know that new show is happening, and Taylor is excited about writing it,” Voros recently told The Hollywood Reporter. She also revealed to Variety this vague message about the plot last month:

It’s such a different story. The common ground is the landscape. We are in Montana, but it is seen through a completely different lens, so it feels like another facet of this cut stone that has been polished. There are parallels in the scope of landscape and a human being’s place in that space, but it’s coming at it from a completely different point of view.
So who knows what’s coming! At this pace, maybe one of the horses will kick twice next week to indicate that they’re returning for whatever Yellowstone has planned next.
