Coronation Street spoilers follow from Thursday’s episode (10 July), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.
Coronation Street brings back Adam Barlow tonight after a lengthy absence from the show.
Adam pops up at the Bistro to play a role in Dee-Dee and James Bailey’s ongoing baby storyline – but he immediately causes trouble.
Viewers know that Dee-Dee has recently made plans to have baby Laila christened, against the wishes of her brother James.
Dee-Dee had previously agreed to give up her young daughter to James and let him take full responsibility for her upbringing, but her meddling now suggests that she’s having second thoughts.

In tonight’s episode, Dee-Dee collects Laila from James and lies about her plans for the day.
Later, Dee-Dee is seen celebrating with Adam and Alya Nazir, who’ve become Laila’s godparents. She warmly thanks Billy Mayhew for carrying out a lovely christening.
It’s clear that Adam is oblivious to Dee-Dee’s deception when he questions James’s absence at the service and the subsequent drinks celebrations. Dee-Dee makes excuses to cover up the truth.
This sets the stage for trouble, as Adam soon sends James a text to tell him: “The christening was great. I know you’re not into God, mate, but come and toast your daughter.”
