Emmerdale spoilers for next week reveal John Sugden is close to losing it all as his secrets close in on him.

Belle is on the case over Nate and Aidan Moore has woken up. On top of that, John has almost killed his nephew Harry in his feud with Mack. It’s not looking good as John tries to hold everything together…

Elsewhere, Sarah’s dreams of motherhood are threatened by cancer news and Ross hits on a new business idea thanks to Lewis.

Here’s what’s happening in Emmerdale next week – May 19-23.

1. John panics over Aidan in Emmerdale spoilers
As John is still covering his guilt about the slurry tank spill causing his nephew to end up in hospital, things take an even worse turn for him and his secrets next week when he bumps into Aidan’s mum, Cathleen, at the hospital. She tells him there has been a change in Aidan’s condition…

Yep, we called it: Aidan has woken from his coma. He hears mention of John’s name and his eyelids spring open. John heads to his bedside and is relieved to see Aidan is still non-verbal. He’s dodged a bullet on this one, but Belle is about to throw another curveball in his direction…

2. John’s Nate secret looms
Just as John has fought one fire, he finds he has another one to put out. Belle helps Tracy out and her suspicions grow over why Nate would have just disappeared. She decides to head to Scotland to find him and get to the bottom of it.

But then she brings news that Nate never made it to his job in the Shetlands. Cain is stunned and so Belle decides to call the police and report Nate missing. John swoops in and tries to convince her not to, insisting Nate obviously doesn’t want to be found.

However just as he stops Belle, Moira reveals they are dredging the lake after the slurry tank incident. Nate’s arm is looming below the surface, just waiting to be found…

3. Cancer heartbreak for Sarah in Emmerdale spoilers
Desperate to have a baby, Sarah Sugden forges ahead with her fertility appointment. She is still keeping it a secret from her family and won’t hear of the doctor’s concerns either.

However, then the doctor tells her they have found some inflammation during her cervical examination. Sarah can’t share the news of her potential cancer diagnosis with Cain and Charity so suffers alone.

Sarah then heads to the hospital for a biopsy and feels incredibly isolated as she awaits her results to find out if she has cancer.

4. Ross drawn in by Lewis’ secret
Lewis continues to try to get to know Ross and eventually Ross gives in and sees his brother again. Lewis is keen to meet Moira, but the pressure of the farm getting to her, it’s not a good time to meet the secret son of the woman she killed!

As Ross tries to get used to having a new brother, he is intrigued when he hears Lewis is growing weed. He even gets some cannabis plants from Lewis. And when Mack sees them he wants in. He thinks it’s a way to cover the farm’s fines. But Mack and Ross in business together? What could possibly go wrong?

5. Mack broken as Moira loses everything in Emmerdale spoilers
Mackenzie is overwhelmed by his guilt over the slurry tank leak. He even turns to John for comfort. Of course, John is also feeling the weight of guilt upon him but can’t confess.

As Moira awaits the bill for the clean-up, the insurers refuse to pay out. Moira can’t even look at Mackenzie and is forced to accept life farming the land at Butlers could well be over.

Devastated Mack pulls out of being Aaron’s best man, with most of the village against him. But can John fix everything this time?
