James Cartwright will soon arrive in Coronation Street as Theo Silverton

Coronation Street fans have only just remembered and realised that actor James Cartwright starred in a huge ITV show.
James, 40, made his cobbles debut as scaffolder Theo Silverton earlier this year, where he soon found himself in an on-off love triangle with Todd Grimshaw.
However, soap watchers have been left stunned to realise that actor James had many huge roles prior to Coronation Street with one particular show surprising viewers.
Taking to social media, one person said: “Just watching the 1st Downton Abbey film and look who was in it!!” to which a different account replied: “Oh completely forgot he was in it, great guy x”.

Elsewhere, another put: “I didn’t put two and two together until you posted this”, a different viewer said: “I KNEW I recognised him from somewhere!” while another joked: “He’s kept that quiet from Todd.”

James appeared in Downton Abbey in 2019 as Tony Sellick.
Tony is a plumber who comes to Downton in 1927 to fix the boiler before the impending visit of the King and Queen, and flirts with Daisy Mason.
However, the flirting infuriates Daisy’s husband-to-be at the time Andrew Parker who in a jealous rage breaks the boiler. This prompts Tony to return once again to fix the boiler, noting that it was deliberately damaged.

It comes as soap watchers have also only just discovered that he played a huge character on Tracy Beaker, playing the role of Nathan for 40 episodes between 2003 to 2004.
Taking to social media, one person said: “Not sure if something like this has already been posted here, but I was stunned to find out that James Cartwright, who plays Todd’s latest love interest, Theo, played the character of Nathan in Tracy Beaker from 2003-2004!”

They added: “Who else remembers him from this? I couldn’t believe my eyes!”

To which a different account replied: “I was shocked when I found out it was him going into Corrie but I loved him in Tracy beaker and I like him in Corrie so far” while another put: “Recognised his face just couldn’t place where. Loved Tracey beaker growing up.”

Elsewhere, a different soap watcher added: “OMG no frigging way I grew up watching Tracy Beaker but had no idea, he looks totally different!!! Loved the character Nathan, he was hilarious especially letting Tracy and the other kids run rings round him.”
As well as Tracy Beaker, James has appeared in the likes of The Archers as Harrison Burns and Glow & Darkness as John I Lackland.
