Carla Connor and DS Lisa Swain in Coronation Street
Coronation Street fans think they have ‘confirmed’ a big decision Carla Connor and Lisa Swain will make very soon after spotting a ‘major clue’.
Those who follow the ITV soap know that the couple have had a rollercoaster of starts to their new romance, having finally given in to their feelings last year.
Viewers were delighted as the pair grew closer amid the disappearance, and presumed murder, of Lauren Bolton, which Carla’s friend and father-figure, Roy Cropper, found himself in prison for.
The Underworld factory boss and the detective sergeant initially struggled to admit how they felt for one another before some encouragement from their loved ones saw themselves finally admit their true feelings.
But it’d be fair to say that things haven’t been plain sailing for the new couple. After they celebrated the start of a new year together, things took a downward turn when Carla was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with sepsis.
She was informed that she would need a kidney transplant and despite not wanting her family to be donors, it was her prisoner brother Rob Donovan who ended up stepping up, but all for his own gain as he plotted his escape from prison.
At the end of March, the convicted murderer returned to Weatherfield to have one last showdown with his sister Carla. They have since faced some domestic angst as Betsy Swain lashed out at both Carla and Tracy Barlow, blaming them both for the hostage situation with Rob after she was shot by a rogue bullet as Rob and Lisa tussled for the weapon.
It caused some clear tension among the Sain-Connor clan, particularly when Carla wouldn’t pander to Betsy, while Lisa felt guilt for what happened to her daughter.
But things have since got back on track for the beloved couple and Swarla fans were recently excited when Betsy star Sydney Martin has hinted that fans needn’t worry about the new family’s future. In an interview with Inside Soap, the actress was asked to give fans a little teaser of what’s to come.
She revealed: “The last scene I filmed was in the Bistro, with Vicky Myers [Lisa] and Ali King [Carla]. One of my lines was, Why were you so jumpy when I was looking through stuff this morning?’ It was definitely a spoilery scene.”
It was then during Friday’s (May 9) Corrie, that fans think they spotted a clue that would signal a house move for Carla, Lisa and their families.
