A Coronation Street favourite, Ben Price, was left hobbling around after a peculiar incident in his kitchen.
Sharing the anecdote with his Corrie co-stars Jack P Shepherd and Colson Smith during their On The Sofa podcast, Ben, known for his role as Nick Tilsley on the iconic soap, shared a comical, yet unfortunate incident after finding an unexpected visitor in his kitchen.

Ben described what he called an “accident” at home, which turned into an unfortunate encounter with wildlife.
The actor detailed how he had scheduled a repair for his cooker and, while cleaning it beforehand, discovered a deceased mouse hidden underneath.

Living close to fields, Ben suspected there might be additional mice hiding out in his loft and set out to check, despite nursing a “dead leg” from a jiu-jitsu injury.
Venturing into the loft to look for signs of more mice, his return trip took a turn for the worse when he stumbled and his foot crashed through the ceiling.
Ben humorously recounted the ordeal, saying: “And I put my foot straight through; straight through. I’ve fallen through the ceiling, but my leg’s dead, so I can’t pick it back up. So, I have to use both my – my leg’s trapped in – and I’m going, pulling it back.”

His woes were far from over as he surveyed his bathroom, now a scene of complete chaos: “And I think to myself, ‘I’ve only put my little foot through’, so it’s just a foot mark in the ceiling. I’m thinking nothing of it, I look through the thing, and there was not one bit, the shower, the loo, the tiles, the floor, that wasn’t covered.”
He continued, describing the extent of the damage below him: “It was utterly covered. The whole ceiling, the whole part of the ceiling, had fallen down. Utterly, utterly gone. So then, I’m limping down the stairs, Star’s like, ‘You’ve put your foot through the ceiling; where are the mice?'”

In the aftermath of his blunder, he recounted how there was no time to dwell on the accident, as his immediate concern was to tackle the debris.

However, the situation took another turn when his wife mentioned she was heading up for a shower, prompting him to urgently inform her: “You just need to know something, you just need to know something!” before revealing: “I’ve put my foot through the ceiling”.
While he anticipated a simple fix, he humorously expressed frustration at his wife’s reaction, seeing the mishap as an ideal chance to give the entire bathroom a makeover.
Away from sharing his peculiar incident at home recently, Ben has been a regular on our screens over the last decade and a half for his portrayal of Nick Tilsley, starring in some of the soaps biggest storylines since then.
