Coronation Street fans ‘know’ who is going to save Todd Grimshaw from Theo Silverton and it’s a former cobbles favourite.

Over on the soap this year, Todd (Gareth Pierce) struck up a romance with newcomer Theo (James Cartwright). However, it was revealed that Theo is actually married to Danielle (Natalie Anderson) and is a father to Millie (Kaitlyn Earley) and Miles (Lewis William Magee).

In a sad turn of events though, Theo confided in Todd that he had lived a life in the closet, and revealed he was forced to undergo conversion therapy when he was younger.

The truth about Theo and Todd eventually came out after Danielle caught them passionately kissing. Since then, Theo and Todd have continued their relationship – but it’s not exactly been plain sailing for the pair.

Recently, Theo’s teen daughter Millie faked a pregnancy, thinking it would bring her dad back to the family home. However, Todd later found out and insisted that she come clean to everyone.

Millie later sneakily conjured up a lie and told her dad that Todd made her go get an abortion – something Theo fortunately found out was a lie.

However, angry that Theo didn’t initially believe him, Todd ended up getting drunk with James Bailey (Jason Callender). James then tried to make a move on Todd – but he pushed him away; just as Theo returned.

Todd reassured Theo and said he wasn’t interested in James – and Theo laughed about their chaotic day. He then said to Todd that he would keep Millie away from him, if he kept his distance from James.

Later on though, Theo approached James and threatened him. He warned that if he didn’t back off Todd, then they would be exchanging more than just words.

Now, with fans speculating that a dark twist is coming as Theo could set to abuse Todd, other viewers are certain someone from Todd’s past could make a comeback to save him.

Fans have ‘worked out’ who saves Todd
On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person penned: “I’m not liking this Theo.” Others then suggested Todd’s former flame Karl Foster (Chris Finch) could return and take him down.

They wrote: “Remember Karl Foster? He needs to come back, he was def Todd’s one that got away.” Another agreed: “Aww yeah I remember him”. A fourth also declared: “That’d be so good! He could save Todd from Theo.” Someone else wrote: “Yeah he could be the one.”

Fans will recall that Karl made his debut way back in 2003 as a nurse at Weatherfield General. The following year, he started dating Todd (then played by Bruno Langley) – who was in a relationship with Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) at the time.

Karl ended up leaving in 2004 – but his exit sparked a petition which gained many signatures urging his return.
