Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan has revealed that the relationship of one of the show’s favourite duos will be ‘fractured’ as her character leaves the street.
It’s been not secret that the actress is bowing out of the ITV soap, four years after making her debut in the role of Daisy Midgeley, the former stepdaughter of Jenny Connor.
Charlotte’s final scenes will air in May after she confirmed back in January that she would be looking for new opportunities after playing the Rovers Return barmaid.
The soap star said in a statement at the time: “My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish. After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities.”
Charlotte, who previously starred in Netflix series Free Rein, added: “It’s been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much.”

It’s now been revealed that Daisy will bid farewell to the cobbles next month in a dramatic and emotionally charged storyline – and viewers can get a first-look from Coronation Street’s brand new trailer.
After a recent whirlwind of drama involving a secret pregnancy, catfishing, and tangled romances, Daisy is ready to embark on a new chapter at the other side of the world, leaving a void in the heart of Weatherfield and devastation in her wake.

Viewers can expect highly emotional scenes as Jenny Connor desperately pleads with Daisy to reconsider her decision. Additionally, a heartfelt conversation with Daniel Osbourne will play a crucial role in her final moments on the street leaving viewers hoping that Daniel’s plea can sway Daisy’s decision.
Speaking of Daisy’s decision to leave the street, Charlotte said: “I think it’s very bittersweet for Daisy. Weatherfield has been her home for a while now and, early on, was giving her all the things she wanted – family, community, stability, people to love more than she perhaps loves herself – but it’s also been the source of so much trauma for her.
“I think we’ve watched her slowly try to pick up the pieces since her stalking storyline, but she’s ultimately realised she doesn’t need to stay in a place that’s caused her so much heartbreak. And it’s just as well she’s running far away to the other side of the planet, as she’s left a mountain of destruction and angry people in her wake!”
Charlotte was also quizzed on where things stand with Jenny, with fans aware Daisy has been catfishing the Rovers landlady alongside her mother, Christina Boyd.
Asked what their relationship is like now, and if all is forgiven on both sides, she admitted: “It’s so fractured now. And it’s so sad, as we’re used to seeing them so in sync. I think Daisy’s harbouring some real resentment there, especially after what Jenny said about her miscarriage and her little brother’s death.
“She feels she’s very much been backed into a corner here. I suppose that’s the only way she can justify her final betrayal of Jenny.”

It is then when Charlotte shared: it’s actually very reminiscent of Jenny’s early relationship with Rita [Tanner]. It’s like Daisy is Jenny’s penance for all the grief she used to give poor Rita!”
