Coronation Street star Joe Layton has issued a six-word message to viewers after a deadly week on the cobbles was teased.

The actor is set to be involved in a dramatic series of episodes in the ITV soap after making his debut back in February as newcomer Mick Michaelis.

Earlier this week, a shocking new Corrie trailer revealed a battered and bloodied Craig Tinker lying unconscious on the cobbles after a vicious attack.

As DS Swain’s emotional voiceover asks us: “If we knew today was our last day on earth, what would we do differently?” Does this mean PC Tinker reached the end of the thin blue line?

In a special week of episodes following the stories of both Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) and DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), Corrie viewers will uncover the secrets surrounding Mick’s hold on Kit as his past comes back to haunt him, leaving both his friends and family in grave danger.

The week starts with an excited Craig ready to begin his placement shadowing Kit in CID. But while Kit has his own agenda to take care of, a series of climactic events unfold on the street, culminating in a shocking and horrific incident. With Craig’s life hanging in the balance, viewers will see him fight for every breath.

As history catches up with Kit, will his future be destined to haunt him forever as well as his past? And as Lisa chillingly reminds those watching: “There isn’t always more time.”

Following the release of the promo, Joe reshared the video to his Instagram Story and said: “Big week on the cobbles incoming… @coronationstreet.”

He’s also been welcoming a new young star into his on-screen family. A family who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent have shared their excitement as one of them is now set to make their debut in Corrie.

Sign-language choir Sign Along With Us appeared on the ITV talent show during series 14 back in 2020, where they were awarded a golden buzzer by then-judge David Walliams. Initially two members of the group, Jade Kilduff and her brother Christian, entered the stage to introduce the act. Jade was aged 18 at the time whilst Christian was aged 4.

Jade had started the sign language class after teaching Christian, who struggles with co-ordination due to his cerebral palsy. The group also contained a girl, Ella Chadwick, who had previously met Simon Cowell at the Pride of Britain Awards after receiving an award for the most courageous child.

But it’s now been revealed by her and her mum, Diana Kilduff, that the youngest member of the ‘Inclusive Family’ is set to make her TV debut. Little Molly Kilduff has been revealed as joining Corrie in upcoming scenes as one of the daughters of new couple Mick and Lou.

Confirming Molly’s role, Jade shared pictures of the pair on the Cobbles and said: “Could not be prouder of you Molly Moo !! Such a beautiful, funny, confident, talented and above all kind little girl. Shining bright on those cobbles like the star you are @mollykilduff_ @coronationstreet.”

Diana also shared a video to Molly’s Instagram page, which she runs, in which the youngster could be seen on the Trafford-based set. She excitedly says to the camera in a video: “I can tell you my surprise! I’m on Coronation Street! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

“I’m having the best time.” She then said: “Meet me on the Cobbles,” before running off down the famous location. A message alongside the post read: “Mollys exciting news is now out!! She has a part on coronation street and we are all so proud of her.

“She is having the most wonderful time filming and cannot say thanks enough to the amazing @carolgodbystw & @lintonmanagement . And also thank you to everyone at @coronationstreet for making her feel so welcome and making her days there the best.”

Joe has since reshared a video of Molly seeing herself in soap spoilers in a magazine and said alongside the video on his Instagram Story: “Mick and Lou might be wrong ‘uns but these kids are brilliant… Oh and @ryan__mulvey ain’t bad either.”
