Coronation Street star Ryan Prescott has been branded ‘so cute’ as he shared an admission about his time on the long-running show after fans’ demand.
The actor, from Stockport, has played Ryan Connor in the ITV soap since 2018. However, the character was first brought into Weatherfield in 2006, and played by Ben Thompson until 2010 when Ryan accepted a university placement in Glasgow.
Two years later, however, he was kicked off his course and returned home, hooked on cocaine. Sol Heras then took on the role from 2012 to 2013, when Ryan went to Ibiza to work as a DJ.
Five years later there was another change as Ryan was recast in the role in 2018 – when his character’s job in Ibiza fell through and he moved back in with his mum, Michelle Connor, played by Kym Marsh.
But it wasn’t Ryan’s first stint in a soap. His first major role was as Flynn Buchanan in Emmerdale in 2011, who was introduced as a love interest for Aaron Dingle.
After enjoying a 12 episode stint on the Yorkshire-based soap, Ryan went on to bag roles in Holby City, The Syndicate, Doctors and Casualty before finally landing the job on Corrie.
However, it’s clear Ryan’s heart still belongs with Corrie as he took to social media with a mass cast photo, which was taken last year, and shared he continued delight at being a part of the Manchester institution.
Alongside the picture, which featured the show’s whole cast as well as members of the all-important crew, the soap star said: “Very lucky to be part of this wonderful world of make-believe @coronationstreet #coronationstreet #corrie.”
A statement across the picture also read: “What an amazing group of people I get to work with.”
Corrie co-star Sally Carman-Duttine, who plays Abi Webster in the soap, said: “You’re so cute.” Amy Barlow actress Elle Mulvaney responded with red heart emojis, while Vicky Myers, who plays DS Lisa Swain, took to the comments section with the hands making hearts emoji
Fans were also keen to respond. @xjeankellyx said: “The best cast ever.” @girlfly84 commented: “This is lovely! What a great memory to have!” @_kizzylou_ added: “We are the lucky ones to get to watch your talent on screen.”

It comes amid a recent demand from Corrie fans to see more Ryan on-screen after his brief absence earlier in the year. He then returned to screens at the end of April, much to fans’ delight.
