Coronation Street spoilers follow for the latest episode to air on ITV1 and stream on ITVX.
Coronation Street’s Kit Green made an enemy out of Gary Windass in the latest episode, as the copper once again let Mick Michaelis off the hook.
In tonight’s instalment, Gary and Maria Connor learned that Mick had locked Liam in the tool shed at the builders’ yard, which made him miss his GCSE exam. And they were furious.
After being told not to hit Mick, Gary decided to give him a taste of his own medicine before firing him.
However, things got violent later on as Mick cornered Gary and punched him. Gary grabbed an empty bottle was ready to strike back, but Kit intervened and stopped them, letting Mick go.
“What? Is this a wind-up? You’re just gonna let him walk away?” an incredulous Gary asked, but Kit told him: “All I saw was me prevent you from making a massive mistake.”

Both Gary and Maria were furious at Kit’s behaviour and she encouraged him to report the police officer to his superiors. However, Kit turned up at the salon and told them that Mick made a complaint against Gary for false imprisonment and he was the one who’d need to come in for questioning.
At the station, Kit denied seeing Gary hit Mick and warned him to stay away or face arrest.
When Gary told Maria about what happened, he called Kit “so bent he’d give a gymnast a run for his money”. The duo wondered why he’s protecting Mick so much and planned to find out from Craig Tinker who they could report him to.

At the Bistro, Kit told Mick they were “even” after the day’s events, but Mick insisted even was “something we are far, far away from”.
With Kit under his thumb, Mick trashed the builders’ yard and gloated to Gary that there’s no point reporting it.
Kit’s mum Bernie Winter turned up to his flat and came across a ripped up strip of photos of two teenage friends, setting up Friday’s (16 May) flashback episode.
Following on from that, there’s plenty more drama to come from Mick ahead of his upcoming departure.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
