EastEnders actor promises Colchester audience ‘an amazing show’ ahead of musical tour

AN EastEnders actor says he can’t wait to come to Colchester as part of an autumn UK tour.

Matt Lapinskas, 36, of played Anthony Moon in the soap.

He also came second place on Dancing on Ice in 2013, and has appeared in a UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

He’ll be appearing alongside fellow singers Graham Tudor, Sam Cassidy, Rob McVeigh at Mercury Theatre on October 23 for the Dreamcoat Stars tour.

It’s a musical event which stars actors who have all appeared in productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Speaking about his career, Matt said: “After I landed role as Anthony Moon, my father was David Essex, I got to work with Shane Ritchie and some amazing actors, I spent two years on Albert Square.

“It has just been amazing, I’ve been able to work constantly for the last 15 years, Joseph on tour for a year, 13 pantomimes, seven or eight films, countless different plays, I have been very privileged.”

Dreamcoat Stars is produced by Matt Brinkler for RED Entertainment and Keith Jack who shot to fame after placing second in BBC One’s competition programme, Any Dream Will Do.

Matt was first approached to join the Dreamcoat Stars UK tour back in May 2024 by Mr Brinkler.

“I did Joseph with Matt and did it for a year, and always kept in contact, he messaged me out of the blue and asked if I would be free.

“I love singing, I love being on stage, it looked like fun.”

Matt will sing four-part harmonies with the other cast members and he’s looking forward to playing in Colchester.

He said: “I can’t wait to come to Colchester, we get to see a different city or town every single day, we arrive, have a ritual, put our suits in dressing rooms and then go off and explore.

“I’m looking forward to this tour, we are absolutely buzzing to get back onto the road.”

When asked what the Colchester audience can expect from the show, he said: “When we arrive, when the Dreamcoats come, we want you to have fun.

“There are some of the modern classics you love, four-part harmonies, stories about our careers.

“It is an amazing show; we will have you on your feet singing and dancing by the end of it.”
