EastEnders fans have said that they are ‘certain’ a big twist is on the way as they predict a major character is set to ‘come back from the dead’.
Recent weeks have seen a number of twists aired on the BBC soap, including the debut of Sonia Fowler’s real dad Terry Cant after 30 years.
Known for always keeping viewers on their toes, a gripping storyline has fans theorising that EastEnders might broadcast their biggest twist of the year.
One of the show’s main storylines at the minute is following Nicola Mitchell’s attempts to cover up Shireen Bashar’s murder.
Harry Mitchell’s girlfriend Shireen mysteriously disappeared before his family moved to Albert Square last year, with fans having to speculate what happened to her for months.
After lots of speculation, it emerged that Nicola killed Shireen, with her body buried at an industrial site her husband Teddy Mitchell and Junior Knight are preparing to do construction work at.

Desperate to stop her body from being found, Nicola was told by her henchman Benji that he planted evidence on her body that would signal her guilt.

If things couldn’t get any worse for Nicola, her husband Teddy Mitchell was informed by Ravi Gulati of what really happened.
In scenes that aired on Monday (April 28), Nicola told Teddy that she paid Benji to scare Shireen off before things escalated.
After being persuaded not to tell Harry what happened, Teddy urged Nicola to leave Walford. However, as always she had other plans.
Heading to the construction site, Nicola revealed why she killed Shireen as she talked to herself while digging in hopes of moving the body.

“You were going to ruin Harry’s life. And you knew too much. Sooner or later, you would have told Teddy that Barney wasn’t his. I couldn’t let that happen,” she said.
Before Nicola could find the body, Teddy arrived to stop her and claim that he has the solution to the problems.
Over on the EastEnders Reddit page, fans remain unconvinced that Shireen is dead and are adamant that she’ll show up in the coming months.

@pineapples-1971 said: “I don’t think the writers would bring in a character as amazing as Nicola to do just one year and then write her out to go to prison. I think that there will be no body buried there.” @faultInternational91 added: “She’ll randomly turn up on the Square after Harry’s got with someone else I suspect.”

My prediction is she told him she was pregnant, he let her go, she’ll turn up in a few months with a mini-Harry in tow to blackmail Nicola.” @jajay119 posted: “Teddy will help her cover it up ‘for the boys’ It will all come out at Christmas.”

Characters coming back from the dead has occurred several times in the past on EastEnders, with Dirty Den, Kathy Beale and Cindy Beale all pulling off the impossible.
