EastEnders is poised to broadcast more distressing scenes for Elaine Knight (Hariett Thorpe) following her double heart attack.

This week, tension was palpable in The Queen Vic as Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) informed her mum Elaine of her intention to sell the pub, a decision Elaine pleaded with her to reconsider.

A heated argument ensued between the two when George Knight (Colin Salmon) urged Linda to empathise with Elaine’s perspective. This conversation led Elaine to suspect her estranged husband was scheming behind her back.

After failing to secure funds to rescue The Vic, Elaine lost her cool in front of all the patrons before collapsing.

Linda and Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) were left horrified, but Elaine soon admitted to having a panic attack before her health suddenly declined, reports Belfast Live.

In the forthcoming episodes, Elaine’s health continues to weigh on Linda’s mind after her heart attack.

However, instead of resting, a resolute Elaine seizes the chance to step in at The Albert when Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) fails to secure any entertainment for the bar, much to the admiration of love rival Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins).

Meanwhile, Linda fears that Elaine is overexerting herself following her ordeal. Will she manage to get through to her mum?

Upon Anna Knight’s (Molly Rainford) return to the Square from Spain, she immediately locks horns with her dad, George, for keeping her uninformed about his divorce from Elaine and the sale of The Vic.

Anna implores George to have a word with Elaine about slowing down after her heart attack, as both she and Linda have been unsuccessful in their attempts to reason with her.
