EastEnders newcomer reveals true feelings about co-star with behind-the-scenes snap

An EastEnders star has been showered with support after sharing her off-screen bond with a co-star.

An EastEnders star has received an outpouring of love from fans following her heartfelt post about a fellow cast member.

Alice Haig, who joined Albert Square as Vicki Fowler in March, has been making waves since her character (Sharon Watts’ adoptive half-sister) arrived from Australia with her partner Ross Marshall (portrayed by Alex Walkinshaw) and his son Joel (played by Max Murray), who’s been embroiled in some controversial plots.

Despite Joel’s on-screen antics, which include being swayed by misogynistic online material, covertly recording a sexual encounter with Avani Nandra-Hart (acted by Aalyiah James), and behaving inappropriately towards a woman on the tube, Alice has taken to Instagram to praise Max’s off-screen persona.

In a shared selfie, she expressed: “Always brilliant working with the class act that is @maxmurray.official.”

She added: “Not only is he a fantastic actor on screen but he’s respectful, kind and incredibly hard working off it,” reports OK!

“Not easy doing this job at such a young age and he is smashing it! Making a pretend step-mum very proud!”

Fans were quick to rally around the duo, with one commenting: “Two brilliant actors I love watching you both on screen your portrayal of Vicki and Joel is perfection! Two perfect castings.”

Another fan echoed the sentiment, saying: “Love you both!! Brilliant work as always.”

A third fan exclaimed: “TWO legends,” while another admirer effused: “You guys are fantastic and you are looking good and I’m very impressed and Joel Marshall too and love you @alicehaig.official both so much you both are my favourite.”

Max also chimed in on the post, sharing: “I’m beyond lucky to be working with you love ya.”

The young star is the son of singer Gina Murray and the grandson of songwriter Mitch Murray, and has clearly followed in their footsteps, as he’s part of a band with his brother Joe.

Gina also appeared in a 2014 episode of EastEnders, where she played a woman named Helen, a specialist who wanted to help Carol Jackson find a wig amid her cancer battle.

When EastEnders fans discovered Max and his brother’s band, The Murray Brotherz, they were shocked to discover his hidden talent.

One fan wrote: “Okay so that’s acting and singing ticked off. Add dancing next to become a legit triple threat. Max has that X Factor!”
