Kat and Alfie’s happy ending may take a turn for the worst in the coming weeks

EastEnders spoilers have revealed that Kat Slater is set to reunite with one of her exes just weeks after marrying Alfie Moon.

The final episode of the Chris Clenshaw era of the BBC soap concluded with fan favourite couple Kat and Alfie tying the knot for the third time.

Following a week of mishaps and fears they might not go through with the big day, they said ‘I do’ on top of a bus in front of their friends and family.

However, scenes this week will see Alfie reveal that he has to go to Australia to visit his brother Spencer Moon in Australia after he lands himself in hot water.

With actor Shane Richie taking some time away from the programme, Kat will be left to deal with their wayward son Tommy on her own.

According to the latest batch of EastEnders spoilers, Kat will soon be spending time with Phil Mitchell, who she married in 2023, with their divorce only finalised this year.

On Monday, June 23, Phil becomes worried about Nigel Bates when he goes out barefoot, and his fears are exacerbated when he returns home to find chaos in the kitchen.

With Nigel suffering from dementia, the situation gets dangerous when the pair grapple over a pan of boiling water. Later, Kat realises Phil is injured and knows something is wrong, so she presses him to be honest about Nigel’s condition.

During a heart-to-heart, Kat comes to the conclusion that Phil’s exhausted and in over his head looking after Nigel, who he began caring for several months ago.

Tuesday, June 25, will see Kat visit Phil and suggest he needs extra support to care for Nigel, which he refuses. Later, Nigel offers to help Phil’s granddaughter Lexi write a story for school but as they talk about the past, Nigel struggles to cope.

Phil is troubled when he finds Nigel with Lexi realising that he’s confused her with his daughter Claire. While this is happening, Kat is annoyed when Jean Slater questions why she’s spending so much time at Phil’s place, but she insists it’s nothing but platonic concern.

As Phil tries to manage the fallout of Nigel and Lexi’s conversation, Kat once again insists that he must get help.

For those who don’t remember, Kat and Phil split up when his sister Sam exposed his affair with Emma Harding at their joint birthday party last year.

The Albert Square legends initially began seeing each other in 2021, with Kat trying to keep the romance under wraps at the start.

While viewers were stunned by their eventual marriage, Alfie’s return and cancer battle led to distance growing between the pair.

Now that Kat is married to Alfie and Phil is helping Nigel, can they remain friends or is another affair scandal about to rock Walford?
