EastEnders is preparing to bid farewell to the beloved character Martin Fowler, portrayed by James Bye, in heart-wrenching scenes. However, another familiar face will also be departing from Walford.
On Monday (7th April), Martin’s family and friends gather to pay their final respects as his funeral day arrives. As viewers are aware, Martin tragically passed away from a cardiac arrest after being struck by a metal beam in The Queen Vic back in February.

Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) has been grappling with the sudden loss of her father but attempts to console her siblings when their mother, Stacey (Lacey Turner), returns home in an intoxicated state.
Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) steps in to offer comforting words to Stacey and assist her in sobering up. While Lily is left seething at her mother, Stacey admits she cannot bear to bid farewell to Martin.

Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) are seen struggling to keep their composure as they prepare for the funeral, reports Plymouth Live.
Later in the day, Martin’s final journey through the Square commences as he is laid to rest.
However, following the service, emotions start to run high as Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) struggles to conceal her anger and resentment towards her former best friend and romantic rival, Stacey.
A confrontation ensues between the two at the wake, which later continues at the allotment.

This second clash leads to revelations that could shatter any chance of reconciliation between the pair. But what exactly is revealed?
Meanwhile, Lily is struggling to cope and turns to alcohol, spurred on by Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James).
Before long, Stacey discovers her daughter in a drunken state and attempts to rectify the situation, but Lily refuses to heed her mother’s advice.
Further distress ensues when Martin’s cherished fruit and veg stall is set ablaze.
The sight of his charred stall leaves Martin’s loved ones heartbroken, but Stacey is determined to uncover the perpetrator.

Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) swiftly advises his ex-lover, Stacey, to leave the investigation to the police, yet Stacey soon believes she knows who is responsible for the fire.

As the tension between Ruby and Stacey escalates, Jean (Gillian Wright) pleads with her daughter to cease the conflict and focus on recovery.
However, when Stacey seeks out Ruby for a conversation, Zack Hudson (James Farrar) discloses that she has already departed Walford. Will there ever be reconciliation between Stacey and Ruby?
