EastEnders star Bobby Brazier has broken his silence on his ‘mixed feelings’ ahead of his upcoming BBC soap exit.
This week alone has seen Clair Norris actress Bernie Taylor and Matthew James Morrison’s Felix Baker leave the programme.
The two latest exits arrive in a year where James Bye, Patsy Palmer and Natalie Cassidy have all bidded farewell to Albert Square.
With new Executive Producer Ben Wadey continuing to ring in the changes, it was announced last month that Bobby will be the next to leave.
Bobby has been playing the role of Freddie Slater, the son of Little Mitchell, since 2022, with the character originally played by twins Alex and Tom Kilby from 2004 to 2006.
The character is best known for being involved in a heated love triangle with his best friend Bobby Beale and his girlfriend Anna Knight.
Previously taking a break in 2023 to compete on Strictly Come Dancing, Bobby reacher the final with his partner Dianne Buswell in a season that was won by Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola.
Confirming his exit, a BBC spokesperson said in June: “We can confirm that Bobby Brazier will be leaving EastEnders, and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Speaking to GB News at the National Film Awards, the 22-year-old actor addressed leaving EastEnders for the first time.
“[It’s] mixed feelings, because EastEnders has been my first sort of real job, and I’ve learned a lot there. It feels like home.
“There is really a family sort of feeling amongst the cast and everyone else,” he said.
Bobby added: “So I will miss it, and I’m very grateful for those three years. But with that being said, I think variety is important, and I did learn a lot.”
Branding the Slaters ‘the best family’ on the programme, Bobby highlighted Lacey Turner and Gillian Wright as two of the cast members he’s learned the most from.
Teasing what’s next for him, Bobby commented: “I don’t know. I guess that’s how it really works in this industry. You never really know!

“But yeah, I’d like to play a variety of different roles, work out what I like, what I’m good at and not good at and what I could work on. I’d like to learn more and also relax a bit too!”
