Emmerdale’s Moira Dingle was left heartbroken in Monday’s episode following more unfortunate news for the village farmer.
Fans will remember that recently, amidst a feud between John Sugden and Mackenzie Boyd, John, seeking revenge, opened the farm’s slurry tank causing havoc.
The following day, Moira was thrown into panic when she discovered a serious leak with the slurry tank, much to John’s delight as Mack was blamed.
However, the situation took a dark turn when Cain Dingle revealed that the slurry had contaminated the village’s main water supply. Consequently, John’s nephew, Harry, was rushed to hospital after consuming some of the polluted water.
In Monday’s episode, Harry remained on a drip in the hospital while the village ostracised Mack, holding him responsible for the incident, reports Leicestershire Live.

Later, Moira received even more distressing news as she feared she might have to shut down the farm after 16 years due to the costs of cleaning up the slurry spill, which insurance refused to cover.
Soap fans quickly took to social media to share their thoughts on the farm disaster. One viewer asked: “What will happen to Moira? will there be criminal charges.”
Meanwhile, another user suggested: “She would be better off selling the place, not making any money” while another agreed: “I completely agree…” Could Moira sell the farm after 16 years and who would be the buyer?
It comes as Moira recently found out that her nephew Ross Barton has a secret half-brother named Lewis Barton. Just last week, she came across a letter addressed to ‘The Family of Emma Barton’.
Fans of the show will remember that Moira was responsible for the death of the villainous Emma back in 2017, and this discovery left her worried about what it could mean if she gave the letter to Ross.

Despite her fears, Moira informed Ross about the letter, leading him to arrange a meeting with Lewis. The encounter took place in a woodland area, where Ross found it difficult to answer Lewis’ probing questions about their shared past without revealing the family secrets he’s been keeping for years.
Their discussion about past events proved too much for Ross, who decided to leave, dashing any hopes of reconciliation and leaving Lewis feeling rejected.

However, in Monday’s episode, after receiving several calls from Lewis, Ross had a change of heart and agreed to meet him at the café.
Lewis confessed that he was aware of some of the family’s dark past due to information available online, and continued to ask more questions. This leaves us wondering, could Moira’s deadly secret be revealed?
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV and ITV X at 7.30pm with an hour-long episode on Thursdays and is available to stream from 7am on ITV X.
