Emmerdale viewers are speculating that Ross Barton may have another hidden sibling, following the recent revelation about his brother Lewis.
This week in the Dales, Ross’ aunt Moira (Natalie J Robb) was taken aback when she received a letter addressed to The Family of Emma Barton. As viewers will remember, Emma (Gillian Kearney) was Moira’s sister and Ross’ mother.
Emma was notorious for her criminal activities during her time in the village, including an attempt to suffocate Ross as an infant. However, her reign of terror ended in 2017 when Moira pushed her from a viaduct.
Torn over what to do with the enigmatic letter, Moira eventually showed it to Ross, revealing the existence of a half-brother named Lewis, whom Ross had never met.

After some persuasion from Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), Ross decided to reach out to Lewis – and in Thursday’s episode (May 15), the two brothers met in a secluded woodland area, reports Leicestershire Live.
Confronted by his brother, Ross found it challenging to answer Lewis’ numerous questions about their family without divulging the many dark secrets he needed to conceal. Eventually, Ross chose to leave, causing Lewis to feel abandoned.

However, fans now suspect that Lewis isn’t the only secret offspring that Emma bore in the past. They believe they’ve ‘figured out’ the identity of Ross’ other long-lost sibling – who is already residing in the village.
On a popular Emmerdale Facebook fan page, fans are now speculating that the village’s newest villain, John Sugden, may be harbouring a secret connection to the Bartons.
Since his arrival last year, John has wasted no time in stirring up drama and spreading fear, most notably with the murder of Nate Robinson, whose body he callously disposed of in a nearby lake.

However, a growing number of enthusiasts believe that John’s true identity may be the key to unlocking a new layer of intrigue in the show. Suggesting a DNA twist connecting John to Ross Barton, one individual posited: “Another theory could *john sugden* be Emma Barton’s other son.”
Fellow fans quickly echoed this notion, with another enthusing: “I was thinking the same as he walked into the pub I thought it was strange they were talking about it and he walks in.” A third devotee also chimed in, echoing agreement: “That’s what I said.”
