Aidan Moore has spent all of his time in Emmerdale in a coma – until now. The young man has been in hospital and is somehow connected to John Sugden’s chequered past.
John had claimed that Aidan was his former fiancé, and their pair had met whilst in the army together. He had explained to the others that they had been in a relationship but kept that away from the others in their regiment.
Aidan and John continued their relationship in secret, but one day, disaster struck and Aidan was injured whilst on patrol with John. John said he had tried to save Aidan’s life but his brain was starved of oxygen and as a result, he was left in a coma.
Of what happened between him and Aidan, John recalled: “I tried my best to save him. I told him I could but I was lying, I had to. I could see the fear in his eyes. I held his hand as he slowly slipped away.
“Aidan thought I could save him and I let him down. I can never forgive myself for that.” We also know that John has tried to save multiple people, including Nate who eventually was k.i.l.l.e.d by John in a shock twist.
**THIS PART OF THE ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR TONIGHT’S EPISODE OF EMMERDALE.**
Tonight, as John supported Harry after he fell ill due to the slurry leak, nearby Cathleen kept a watchful eye on her son Aidan. In the final moments of tonight’s episode, as Cathleen fussed around her son, his eyes suddenly shot open.
With him now awake from his coma, what does he know about John – and has John been telling the whole truth? Eagle eyed fans may notice that Aidan isn’t in the credits, despite just waking up – but what could that mean?
In a move that will further puzzle fans, Cathleen is in the credits but without a surname, could this prove he isn’t really Aidan? The last time a surname was kept off a character on the credits was when Nicky – who was the nanny at Home Farm – arrived in the Dales, way before it was revealed he was actually Caleb Milligan’s secret son.
Could this credit hint be a clue that all is not as it seems with Aidan Moore, and what else is John hiding?
