“Hopefully, We’ll Start Seeing Stuff Soon”: ‘Yellowstone’s Cole Hauser Offers Disappointing Beth and Rip Spin-Off Update

Since the Yellowstone finale, he’s partnered with the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) league, starring in and directing a four-minute short film that premiered during the PBR World Finals in Fort Worth, Texas. It’s a slick, stylised celebration of cowboy culture — one that Hauser worked on for four months and describes as a passion project, as he told THR.

“Anybody who jumps on a bull is going to have not only talent, but courage,” Hauser said. “Seeing 30,000 people watching and cheering for the spot live in the stadium was pretty rewarding.”

What’s Happening With Beth and Rip’s Yellowstone Spin-Off?
As for Beth and Rip’s story, Hauser says he’s just as eager as the fans to return to the world of Yellowstone — or at least to Rip and Beth’s next chapter. While reports of a spin-off focused on the world’s most fiery and psychotic couple have been swirling since before the flagship series wrapped, there’s still no confirmation from Paramount, and no clear indication of when cameras might roll. It’s not the kind of concrete update fans might have hoped for, but it’s a sign that Hauser and Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton herself) are still committed to the idea — even if the project is taking its sweet Western time.

“I’m excited just like everybody else. I can’t wait to see what they come up with. Hopefully, we’ll start seeing stuff soon.”

“Not having the cast around certainly [is hard],” he admitted. “Forrie J. Smith [Lloyd] has become such a great friend of mine that to think that my right-hand guy wouldn’t be there [is hard]. But Kelly and I, we’re focused on [Rip and Beth’s] relationship and our love together, and what we’re going to get [them] into.”

Yellowstone is streaming on Peacock. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
