ITV Coronation Street’s Dee-Dee Bailey’s shock baby Laila plan ‘exposed’
Coronation Street viewers believe they’ve uncovered Dee-Dee Bailey’s shocking plan for baby Laila, and it doesn’t bode well.
Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) has been a popular character on the soap since her introduction in 2022, and she’s certainly been at the heart of several major plotlines.

Last year saw her engaged to solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill), who was written out of the show in September following the revelation of his heinous crimes. Despite Joel’s death, Dee-Dee’s ordeal didn’t end there as she discovered she was expecting his child.

Determined to distance herself from the situation, Dee-Dee planned to hand over the baby to her brother James (Jason Callender) and his partner Danny for adoption.

In March, Dee-Dee gave birth to baby Laila after a traumatic delivery that resulted in significant blood loss and a hysterectomy, reports Leicestershire Live.

Initially, Dee-Dee found it difficult to decide whether or not she wanted to keep Laila. However, she eventually agreed to let James take the baby back to America with him.
But last month, James returned to Weatherfield after parting ways with Danny. And recent episodes have shown Dee-Dee growing increasingly attached to the little girl she once gave up.

Adding to the intrigue, in Wednesday’s episode (July 10), she went behind James’ back to have Laila christened – despite his own religious beliefs.
Following the successful ceremony, Dee-Dee celebrated in the bistro with vicar Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and Laila’s godparents Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) and Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson).

Adam unwittingly invited James to join the celebrations, unaware that he was oblivious to the christening. Upon arrival, a furious James vowed never to leave Laila alone with her again.
Coronation Street enthusiasts are now speculating a distressing turn of events for Dee-Dee. A fan on a Coronation Street Facebook group speculated: “Who else thinks Dee-Dee is going to kidnap Laila?”. Another member concurred: “I thought that as well.”
A third added their voice to the discussion: “Yes I can’t see how it’s going to end well with them such a shame.” Yet another expressed their concern: “I really hope they don’t do that Dee-Dee!”
