Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve uncovered a tragic death twist that could result in Cain Dingle’s departure from the Dales.
Cain (Jeff Hordley) has had a hectic few months since his son, Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), departed for Shetland in September.
Despite numerous attempts, Cain was unable to reach Nate, sparking concern among the Dingle family.
However, it soon transpired that Nate didn’t relocate to Scotland, but was instead murdered by John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) following last year’s barn fire.
John administered an unknown substance to Nate under the guise of “saving” him, but the drug had a fatal reaction and sadly resulted in Nate’s death, reports Belfast Live.

Eight months after the barn fire incident, police retrieved Nate’s body from the lake where the limo crash occurred, and two suspects quickly came into focus.
Initially, detectives were suspicious of Cain due to a heated argument with Nate on his last day in the village.
However, the attention has now shifted to Tracy (Amy Walsh) after John planted Nate’s mobile in her daughter Frankie’s (Eden Ratcliffe-Knights) playhouse.
The situation took a grim turn when Tracy was arrested on suspicion of murder last week after her sister, Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), failed to provide Tracy with an alibi for the night Nate died.
In Thursday’s (June 19) hour-long episode, Cain was seen asking Tracy about Nate’s funeral arrangements. She said she could only afford a “bog-standard” cremation, and made it clear that her father-in-law wasn’t welcome at the farewell.
John Sugden

Later on, Sam Dingle (James Hooton) presented Cain with a bottle of strong alcohol that their father, Zak (Steve Halliwell), had brewed before his death.
John then spotted a drunken Cain staggering around the village and quickly targeted him.
He escorted Cain home and urged him to drink heavily until he collapsed in a dangerous state. John then swiftly “saved” him just as Moira (Natalie J Robb) entered the room.
John informed Moira that he had taken Cain home to keep an eye on him, while the ITV stalwart secretly polished off a whole bottle of scotch when John was in the toilet.
“To think what could of happened if you hadn’t of been here, John. You saved him… You’re a hero, and a real-life one at that. Thank you,” said a relieved Moira, oblivious to John’s true role.

During Friday’s (June 20) episode, now available for streaming on ITVX, Cain took a day off work to recuperate, before later discovering his granddaughter Sarah Sugden’s (Katie Hill) cervical cancer diagnosis.
Now, several Emmerdale viewers are speculating that Cain might die from delayed alcohol poisoning in upcoming scenes.
One concerned fan took to Instagram, saying: “Cain better not get killed off,” while another said: “Cain better not die.”

A third viewer speculated: “Have a feeling Cain could die of alcohol poisoning soon. He’ll recover and then get some delayed effect,” and another voiced their worries: “This is not looking good for Cain.”
Meanwhile, a fifth fan theorised: “I’m not sure whether Cain is onto John and he acted drunk, so he could see what John would do, maybe?”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX
