There’s a new “Yellowstone” spinoff in town.
According to a recent Bloomberg report, “Yellowstone” cocreator Taylor Sheridan is working on a new series tentatively titled “Dutton Ranch.” Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser will star in the series, reprising their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler.
Beth and Rip’s spinoff series will reportedly premiere on Paramount Network this fall.
Warning: Spoilers ahead for season 5 of “Yellowstone.”
Fans watched Beth and Rip’s love story on “Yellowstone,” which came to an end after 5 seasons in 2024. It’s unclear what the plot of “Dutton Ranch” will be, but the OG series ended with Beth buying a small ranch in Montana and moving there with Rip and Carter (Finn Little), who has become like an adopted son to them.
“Yellowstone” is over, but Rip still hasn’t learned that Beth has been infertile since her adopted brother Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) took her to get an abortion at a reservation clinic when she was a teenager. Jamie knew that the clinic required sterilization for abortions, but withheld that information from Beth.
It’s possible that Rip will finally learn the truth about what Jamie did to Beth in “Dutton Ranch.”
During the season 5 finale of “Yellowstone”, Beth and Jamie’s longstanding rivalry — made worse by Jamie’s indirect involvement in their father John Dutton’s (Kevin Coster) death — culminates in a violent argument. Beth ultimately kills Jamie during the struggle.

“Dutton Ranch” isn’t the only “Yellowstone” spinoff in the works. In March, Deadline reported that Paramount Network’s sibling channel CBS is eyeing a show about Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes.)
“The Madison,” which is set in the “Yellowstone” universe although it doesn’t follow the Dutton family, wrapped filming in 2024. The Michelle Pfeiffer-led series does not have a release date yet.
Another “Yellowstone” prequel in the vein of “1883” and “1923” has also been announced. Titled “1944,” the new prequel is in the early stages of production.
“Yellowstone” is available to stream on Peacock, while “1883” and “1923” are streaming on Paramount+.
