Months after Taylor Sheridan’s flagship neo-Western wrapped up its explosive fifth and final season, Yellowstone is enjoying a massive resurgence online, climbing the Peacock streaming charts amid growing hype for its expanding universe of spinoffs. According to new data from Flix Patrol, Yellowstone currently ranks sixth among the Top 10 most-watched shows on Peacock, jumping three spots from last week. The NBCUniversal-owned streamer added Yellowstone to its library just three months ago, and it’s already proving to be a major draw — beating out the likes of Chicago Fire and Law & Order: Organized Crime. What’s driving the sudden uptick? Sheridan’s ever-growing slate of Yellowstone spin-offs.
The Yellowstone universe is growing in multiple directions. 1883 and 1923, two period prequels that trace the Dutton family’s early history, have already found big success, with 1923 recently landing on Netflix and introducing new viewers to the franchise. But that’s just the beginning.
Interestingly, it wasn’t always destined to be a success. Sheridan originally pitched the show to HBO, only for the network to pass. Paramount ultimately greenlit it — and the rest is streaming history. Throughout its five-season run, Yellowstone earned critical acclaim and consistent ratings, with Kevin Costner winning a Golden Globe for his portrayal of John Dutton. But behind the scenes, tensions flared. Costner exited midway through the final season due to reported creative clashes and salary disputes. As a result, he was written out before the series concluded.

Up next is The Madison, a modern-day series following the McIntosh family who’ve traded New York skyscrapers for the Montana plains. Oscar nominee Michelle Pfeiffer leads the series, with Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox, and Kurt Russell rounding out the cast. The show is expected to bring a new angle to the Sheridan-verse — one that expands beyond the Dutton bloodline, which has been covered plenty.
Meanwhile, CBS is prepping Y: Marshals, a procedural spinoff following Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) as he joins a rogue team of elite U.S. Marshals. And fans of Beth and Rip, take heart — the newly announced Dutton Ranch (well it’s not actually called that) picks up right where Yellowstone left off, tracking their married life after the main show’s bloody finale.
